Discover more about your family origins, your family history and build a family tree. Margaret Copley leads the very interesting group and will guide you through the online resources. Tips and tricks a-plenty have been shared with members so far and they are always finding more to try. We will have special guest speakers this year! There are opportunities for all members to raise their own stories and/or interests.
Exciting news our first guest speaker for the year will be:
Kath Martin who handles all enquiries and research for St Killians in Bendigo - the original Catholic church from the gold rush will speak on February 14th.
Other speakers s for this term include
June Griffiths from Rye, who has pursued genealogy from the days of letter writing to DNA.
Val Wilson has just completed a Diploma in Family History at Tasmania University. She has an ancestor from Tipp who was in the poorhouse in Thurles in 1849.
Margaret Copley who is planning to give a talk on the land division in Ireland on Gaelic and then British overlay of all land borders.
Weekly from Wednesday 7th February. Time: 1:30pm - 3:30pm.
